Quality Assurance Team Lead
This position is a hands-on role responsible for all aspects of software testing for the organization and reports to the Director of Software. This is a dual role position encompassing all aspects of managing the testing function and test team at New Century Software in parallel with the ability to develop automated regression tests for key applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Software Testing:
- Responsible for all aspects of managing the testing activity including (but not limited to)
- Quality advocate to senior management, marketing and development.
- Resource allocation planning, scheduling and assignment
- Software test plans, including test suites and cases
- Integration, system and user acceptance testing
- Effective team management
- Track and report on testing activities per product and project, including testing case results, code coverage, defects discovered and their status, defect trends, performance baselines, etc.
- Responsible for the hardware and software required for software test.
- Assign tasks to all test team members
- Escalate project related issues (Software, Hardware, Resources) to Software Director / Project Manager.
- Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes and procedures for testing is established as per standards defined by the organization.
- Identify Training requirements (Technical and Soft skills) and work with the software director to schedule training.
- Organize / conduct internal training on various products.
- Own the hand-off to the support organization – user documentation, release package, training, etc.
- Attend weekly Team Leader meeting.
Automated Regression Test Development:
- Create automated regression tests for key products
- Assist in performing any applicable maintenance to tools used in Testing and resolve issues if any
Required Skills
- 3+ years in a software test position that includes software development
- Software development experience or demonstrated ability to debug/isolate defects in code
- Automated software regression test development
- Solid understanding of relational databases and experience with SQL queries
- Experience testing desktop/web data-driven applications on Microsoft Windows platforms
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information technology or other equivalent experience
Desired Skills
- Experience with ArcGIS suite of desktop and server products, including ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, ArcObjects and ArcMap.
- TestComplete and AQTime experience
- Experience with one or more of the following: C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, and database programming using Oracle or SQL Server.
- SEI CMM Certification
